How can we improve the precision management of our injection molds during processing? First of all, we need to know what problems affect the accuracy of injection mold production and processing.

1. Dimensional accuracy

Refers to the conformity and extent of the actual working size of the processed part with the tolerance of the part's size.
The dimensional accuracy is controlled by the dimensional tolerance. The dimensional tolerance is the allowable amount of change in the size of the part during the cutting process. In the case of the same basic size, the smaller the dimensional tolerance, the higher the dimensional accuracy.

2. Shape accuracy
Refers to the degree of overlap between the actual geometry of the surface of the processed part and the ideal geometry. There are 6 items for evaluating shape accuracy, such as straightness, flatness, roundness, cylindricity and line profile. The shape accuracy is controlled by the shape tolerance. Except for roundness and cylindricity, all shape tolerances are divided into 12 accuracy levels. Level 1 is high and level 12 is low.

3. Position accuracy
Refers to the actual working position and accuracy difference between the parts after processing the relevant research surface enterprises. There are eight items for evaluating the accuracy of a position information: parallelism, perpendicularity, inclination, concentricity, symmetry, position, circular runout and total runout. Position positioning accuracy is controlled by position tolerances, and different position tolerances for each activity purpose are also divided into 12 accuracy evaluation levels.

Generally, when designing mechanical parts and determining the machining accuracy, attention should be paid to controlling the shape error in the position tolerance, and the position error should be less than the dimensional tolerance.
