The wear resistance of the surface of the plastic mold cavity is directly related to the wear resistance of the plastic, especially when glass fibers, inorganic fillers and some pigments are added to some plastics, the plastic melt moves rapidly in the runner and cavity. There is a lot of friction on the surface. If the data is not wear-resistant, it will wear out quickly and damage the quality of the plastic parts.

The dimensional stability is good during the Automotive Injection Molding process, and the temperature of the plastic cavity should reach above 300°C. Therefore, the injection mold uses appropriately tempered tool steel (heat-treated steel). Otherwise, the microstructure of the data will change, and then the size of the plastic mold will change. The processing of injection mold parts is simple, mainly made of metal materials, some of which are still very complicated. In order to shorten the production cycle and improve efficiency, it is required that the mold data can be easily processed into the shape and accuracy required by the drawing.

In order to improve the hardness and wear resistance of injection molds, heat treatment is usually used, but this treatment method should make the size change smaller. Therefore, cuttable pre-hardened steel is used.
